FAIRBANKS, Alaska—The cold weather cancelled the classic races Sunday as a four-race series in Alaska came to an end Sunday.
With temperatures hovering below zero (-5) and a feels like temperature of -11, the Besh Cup races that the RMISA results were pulled from were cancelled.
RMISA rules stipulate that when races are cancelled, the other races of that discipline are doubled to equally offset alpine standings. With that, Utah wins the meet with 707 points and Colorado surpassed Denver for second place, 584-571. Montana State finished fourth with 492 points and Alaska Anchorage rounded out the top five with 383 points.
The Nordic teams regular season is now complete, as teams won't compete again until the RMISA Championships in Steamboat Springs Feb. 25-26.
Alpine teams are also in a break and will pick back up with the Denver Invitational, and alpine only meet just prior to the start of the RMISA Championships Feb. 18-21.
