Utah's Remme Wins Women's Slalom at Colorado Invitational

NEDERLAND, Colo.—Utah's Roni Remme won the women's slalom at the Colorado Invitational on Friday afternoon as Denver continues to lead the team standings. The men's slalom was postponed due to weather and will be made up next week at Bridger Bowl.

Denver increased its lead in the team standings and continues to lead Utah, 271 to 241. Montana State stands third with 186 points with Colorado fourth (178) and New Mexico fifth (169).

The Nordic teams get into the action on Saturday at Steamboat Springs and Howelsen Hill with the women's 5-km and men's 10-km freestyle races in an interval start.

  • Utah's Roni Remme wins her first race of the season. It is her third career victory and she has finished on the podium in both races she has competed this season.
  • Denver's Tuva Norbye earned her third podium of the season with a second-place finish.
  • Denver's Amelia Smart picked up her first podium of the season while the Pioneers Andrea Komsic earned her best finish of the year in her second race after flying in from World Cup competition.
  • Colorado's Nora Christensen earned her first top-five finish of the year.
