DENVER—Denver's Sara Rask and Utah's Mikkel Solbakken were name the RMISA Skiers of the Meet for the alpine portion of the Denver Invitational Wednesday after two slalom races took place in the meet the past two days at Loveland Ski Area.
Rask picked up two podium appearances at Loveland, taking third in the first slalom race and second in the second one on Tuesday. It was her two best finishes of the season in slalom and also moved her into the top five for the NCAA qualification on the women's slalom list.
Solbakken mirrored Rask's accomplishments, also taking third in the first slalom race and second in the second the following day. Also his two best finishes for slalom of the season, it moved him up to third on the slalom qualification list.
The two skiers have about two weeks off before the 2024 RMISA Championships set for Bozeman Feb. 22-25. The Nordic portion of the Denver Invitational will conclude the final regular season meet Friday and Saturday at Maloit Park in Minturn, Colo.
