CU's Johansen, WMC's Breuning Pick Up Race Victories In Qualifier

BIG SKY, Mont.—The RMISA alping teams got underway on Saturday, Jan. 7, with the RMISA giant slalom qualifier hosted by Montana State at Big Sky Resort in Big Sky, Mont.

RMISA Qualifier Men’s Giant Slalom

Colorado’s Ola Johansen won his fourth career collegiate race and he was followed by teammate Max Luukko in second for his sixth career podium. A pair of Utes took third and fourth, former U.S. Ski Team member Sam Dupratt making his collegiate debut in third and Endre Bjertness in fourth. Montana State’s Addison Dvoracek placed fifth.

RMISA Qualifier Women’s Giant Slalom

Westminster’s Ann-Kathrin Breuning picked up the win in the first race of the season. Utah’s Roni Remme had a career-best second-place finish while Colorado’s Tonje Trulsrud had her sixth career podium finish with a third-place run. Utah’s Chloe Fausa and Denver’s Tuva Norbye finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
