MIDWAY, Utah— RMISA skiers continued to dominate the Nordic races at the 2026 NCAA Ski Championships on Thursday, capturing the majority of the All-America honors in the classic events at Soldier Hollow.
The league earned 16 of the 20 All-America honors awarded on the day, including nine of the 10 first-team selections, while placing skiers on the podium in both races.
Alaska Fairbanks’ Rosie Fordham led the way in the women’s 7.5K classic, skiing away from the field to win the NCAA title in 24:08.0. Utah’s Erica Laven finished second and Denver’s Synne Bollingmo placed third to give the RMISA a sweep of the podium.
In the men’s 7.5K classic, Dartmouth’s John Hagenbuch claimed the national championship in 18:25.3, while RMISA skiers took the other two podium positions as Utah’s Mons Melbye finished second and Alaska Anchorage’s Erling Bjoernstad was third.
Through four races, the team title race has developed into a tight battle between host Utah and Colorado. The Utes lead the championship standings with 299.5 points, while Colorado sits second with 288 points. Denver remains in contention in third place with 208.5 points.
Utah has won three of the four races contested so far, while Colorado has finished second in all four events through the midpoint of the championships. With two days remaining — Friday’s alpine slalom and Saturday’s freestyle races — the standings remain fluid, especially with the potential for movement in the slalom events.
The championships continue Friday with the alpine slalom races at Utah Olympic Park before concluding Saturday with the 20K freestyle races at Soldier Hollow.
